Wow.

Tall Tom is a star. He’s kind, interesting, intelligent and fun. We chat about everything and nothing for hours on end and beyond the contentment, there’s a very definite spark of mutual attraction.
I want to grin at him the entire time but have to resist for fear of seeming an utter nutter. I look [...]

Tall Tom falls off his pedestal

I called Tall Tom last night, after the text message incident, partly because I was feeling embarrassed and awkward and I wanted to chat to him and check that it was really all ok but partly just because I wanted to talk to him, catch up on his week, make plans and so on.
It rapidly [...]

Hurrah and Boo

Hurrah because
- It’s Friday
- I had a fun evening with friends and felt suitably relaxed and happy with banter and pizza.
Boo because
- I’m nervous as hell about tomorrow’s date with Tall Tom. I’m panicking about the fact that we didn’t speak on the phone during the week. Does this mean he’s not really interested, or [...]

Tall Tom update

Is it just me or is this week going very slowly? Tom has emailed me at least once a day, has texted and generally been interesting, and a little bit flirtatious too. Hurrah.
So I’m not panicking (which I realise makes for a change). Just impatient.
Roll on Saturday.

Slow Start but…

I was staying at my sister’s house on Friday and as she lives round the corner from Tall Tom, he texted to ask if I fancied popping out for a quick drink at last orders. I did. It was an odd, slightly awkward, slightly stilted date. Both of us stone-cold sober, both trying [...]

Even dogs need dates

Well, a shag at any rate.
And apparently finding the right partner of the opposite sex isn’t any easier even if you’re a canine.
Hence this site. Though it has a slightly different slant to human dating - in the canine world you pay to advertise your services, but it’s free to contact, while it’s free for [...]

Booze, bruise and flashbacks

Great fun at a party last night. Today I have several bruises, a hangover and several flashbacks. Mostly all good.
Flashback No 1:
Getting chatted up persistently by a 60 yr old man who looks not dissimilar to my father. My continued “that’s very kind of you but no, sadly, I’m unavailable that day. Oh and that [...]

Reasonable Assistance

I came across this novelty suck-in-your-wibbly-belly vest for men. Good god.
Handy, quite possibly. We all have times when elastic assistance seems like an excellent idea. Though since my first attempt was excruciatingly embarrassing it’s unlikely to be repeated…
But I’m really not happy with the concept of encountering this on a man. Double standards perhaps? Certainly [...]

Money Grabbers

I’ve always been astonished by money-grabbing women who couldn’t care less about the personality or attractiveness of the bloke they date, so long as he’s rich.
This woman’s blog has clarified lots of things for me and made my hair stand on end.
Even if she is as astonishingly beautiful as she says, her personality is very [...]

Shag on the first date?

People are more upfront than I realised. It seems that actually I do indeed have iron pants, certainly compared to those interviewed for this survey from Texas:

”Many of the 568 surveyed women who eventually met their online dates engaged in risky sexual behaviors. Thirty percent of the respondents reported having sex on their first date. Seventy-seven percent [...]
