Ranting to Rowdy

I love friends. They are marvellous, marvellous, things.
I arrived at the pub in a foul mood. Full of ranting grumpiness about office politics, ridiculous objectives and frankly impossible people. The girls laughed good-naturedly and cheered me out of my sulk.
So it wasn’t long before we returned to our normal Rowdy Girl good humour (and sans [...]

Dancing Feet

I danced tonight till my feet were sore, my cheeks hurt from smiling and the rest of me ached. I caught up with all the friends I haven’t seen since before Christmas, swopping stories of festive antics and ambitious New Year’s Resolutions.
To my great surprise, I also bumped into Fetish Boy for the first time [...]

Booze, bruise and flashbacks

Great fun at a party last night. Today I have several bruises, a hangover and several flashbacks. Mostly all good.
Flashback No 1:
Getting chatted up persistently by a 60 yr old man who looks not dissimilar to my father. My continued “that’s very kind of you but no, sadly, I’m unavailable that day. Oh and that [...]

Other people’s sex lives

We all know how the idea of your parents having sex lives is really not a nice thought. Particularly if it seems that their sex life is rather better than yours. But that’s not really news.
I have wondering why while the idea of some of your friends getting down and dirty isn’t too bad [...]

A farewell to rowdy

As I mentioned, City Married Rowdy Girl is moving to the Far East. Shipping their large booze cabinet/cellar would apparently be too difficult & expensive, so instead they kindly (or should that be, foolishly?) invited us all to drink their house dry.
Craig had agreed to come to the party earlier in the week and I [...]

Frolics and Date No 1

Saturday night saw an outdoor party type event. Flash dresses. Lots of Pimms. Fairground. You know the sort of thing. A hilarious evening.
Amongst other things, I chatted the hind legs off several donkeys, pole danced on the horse on the carousel (it seemed like a good idea at the time but rest assured it was [...]

London Restaurants

I’ve been tagged by Mr Write Now to list five favourite places to eat in London. Quite a task, given the number of cracking eateries here. And obviously there will be lots of great places that I don’t know, so do feel free to make other recommendations. I’d be delighted to learn!
So, here you go, my [...]

I (don't) like the way you move

.!.
I love cheesy clubs. Especially if they have revolving dance floors, or flashing-square-light dance floors. Even if they smell of slightly sweaty feet. It’s the music and the unpretentiousness of the experience. You’re there to dance, flirt and shout over music to your friends. Impressing people with your coolness just doesn’t feature. Thank god.
At said [...]

Jealousy and Contentment

When the adrenalin and coffee of the ball wore off, I started to feel a bit low. I felt immensely jealous of VGF’s happiness and contentment with her new (very nice) boyfriend. And when I started thinking about it, I felt that everyone I know is loved up or married or breeding or whatever. And while [...]

I had a ball

It was a fantastic night. Judicious (but moderated, you’d be proud of me) consumption of booze kept the evil back pain away, dancing was full-bodied and enthusiastic. Much banter was had. And a certain amount of “ooooooh should she really be wearing that?” type crowd-watching bitchiness too.
Absolutely what I needed. My mojo is replenished and [...]
